Birth Services

Birth Options

Our midwives believe in supporting the physiologic progress of birth in the home setting. When birth day arrives, your midwife will be by your side through active labor and home delivery, holding space and keeping you and baby safe.

What our homebirth care package includes:

We follow a comprehensive care model designed to ensure the best outcomes for both the birthing parent and baby and tailored to your specific needs.  Generally, our homebirth package includes prenatal care, labor and birth care, postpartum care, newborn care, and lactation hare.  We offer telehealth visits as needed for the convenience of the families we serve. Our midwives are licensed and certified to see infants for the first 28 days of life meaning that postpartum and infant care visits are scheduled concurrently, giving you one less thing to do and one less place to be during your time of rest and healing.

Home Birth

Natural childbirth in a Natural environment

For low risk clients desiring few interventions and a physiologic birth experience, home can be a wonderful place to have a baby.

Laboring and birthing in your own home can be a safe, comfortable experience. Our midwives are trained to help support you through your labor and birth as well as recognize when complications arise.

Our midwives and birth assistants are available 24/7 for whenever your little one decides to make their appearance.

Water Birth

It’s not just for mermaids

In Iowa, waterbirth is something that is only accessible in the home setting. If you are interested in water birth, we can guide you in renting a tub that you can use during your labor, birth or both. Hydrotherapy (warm water use) in labor has lots of research to show its safety and effectiveness.

Birth in water is considered safe as well. Babies have a wonderful reflex that prevents them from breathing until their face comes into contact with the air. Tubs are spacious enough for partners too. If you are interested in waterbirth, we can provide you with a tub.
